Journalist is a
job that always decorate the days of my pride figure. He was born in a family
of artists, it is not a strange thing that my father has skill in art area and make some achievements not only in music but
also in writing. He has got second rank as the best posts in Aceh Province
level. In his old age, he is still active in seeking news material for
publication in the daily newspaper of Analisa who had raised him up.
Absolutely, He has a lot of valuable
experiences. He works diligently, seriously, and honestly. Because of his honesty
and simplicity, he became a respected figure in the society city government. It
is not easy to be a journalist, my father said, "To be honest, some
journalists are professional. I was concerned with the behavior of ‘journalists’ who act outside their profession
as members of the press, they did not uphold the code of conduct. In fact,
journalists are now less attention to etiquette or manners (ethics according
KEJ) in association with officials or public figures in general."
According to him, the
important thing is that we should not depend on other. We must experience all
the profession with a smile and a sense of sincerity although every job has its
obstacle.
He is a good father
that I always make as a good pattern in my life. When I was a little girl, a
lot of his words that I do not understand, but now I understand and get a lot of
lessons. I learn from him. He guides me through the dark is night. Once
upon a time, I asked to be a doctor and he responded, ”doctor is a good work,
but your sister and brothers also study in an expensive school. My dad used to
ask me to be an English teacher, but I was never interested in English teacher, I had 7 years english course since i was a child, and i can
speak in English and I felt bored. I can learn it by myself. Then, I asked for law study, he
spontaneously replied "no, too much sin in them, a part of your legs is
definitely in hell because it concerns about justice. If you become a teacher,
part of your legs is already in heaven ".
I always remember one thing from him. He told me, “when i was at elementary school, i saw a
piece of newspaper on the
street, i
competed with my friends to
pick up the newspaper just to read it.” He is
very diligent in reading.
Even, in his old age now, he still likes to read. I even call him, "walking dictionary". I even
felt
not confidence to him
because he has wide knowledge.
Due to a very broad knowledge, I suggest him to be a lecturer. He has a lot of experience, he just needs
more money for study
at the campus and obtain a
degree which is required to become a lecturer. In addition, he is proficient to
speak in English. That is
why I am
sure, he can be a lecturer. Sometimes, he
speaks in English to me. He talks
in a formal Indonesian language
because the
influence of my grandfather could only speak
in English, Indian, and
formal Indonesian.
He is a father who never complain, diligent, and spirit,
but he has high critical-thinking. Sometimes, it is
annoying for me about his critical. He
always takes
a time to be together with the
family and
telling stories. For me, he
is a very trustful, successfully in guiding me to the right path. He is independent
with another people. All that he
can do,
he will do it by
himself, then he will not
ask for help from others eventhough it is from his
children.
He is really honest, even up to
small things. He always teaches a honesty in life for me. He often cooks in the
kitchen while my mother is in the office. He said, “be a kind person and
beneficial for others. Do not worry when another people behave badly for us.”
I learned that strength is
something you choose. You taught me to stand on my own. There is no question,
that is a lesson that i learned from you. I will be as strong as you...☺☺
